The 3 different focuses of the weekly group activities:
2. The role of carbohydrates.
3. The role of fats and oils
4. The role of Herbs & Spices. Snacks and beverages
5 & 6: What is a healthy Mediterranean diet anyway & putting it all together.
2. Lifestyle interventions including mindfulness based exercises for people with diabetes or at risk of developing diabetes. We will be using Mindfulness based exercises at the beginning of every session and reflect together on their effects. We will also cover physical exercises, sleep and other physical health issues.
3. Learning how to have empowering conversations and feel more in charge of our lives. Learning and practising listening skills. Practising listening to our own bodies, emotions and thoughts and how this can inform our behaviour.
- 1. Diet based on evidence: ‘Mediterranean Diet for Diabetes’. I will prepare and bring foods to taste and share which will be relevant to the session . No on-site cooking is required.
- We will be covering different aspects of the diet in the 6 sessions and every participant will receive a journal with accompanying illustrated information at every session:
